Dear Friends of Tufts Baseball, It’s time to update our Coaches’ Corner as we bid adieu to summer and welcome the students back to Medford. It has been a busy summer as the staff and myself have been in CA, FL, IL, GA, NY, NJ, VA, DC, MA, NH, ME, RI, CT as well as hosting 2 AAU Invitationals and 2 camps. We have been in contact with a lot of good players and we are now in the process of inviting them to visit campus and have them meet the players. It is always nice to hear the wonderful reputation Tufts has, it certainly helps in our recruiting but always believe it is our players who do the best job of “selling” the university and program. They are excellent ambassadors for Tufts. Several of our current players have returned to participate in the pre-orientation programs for 1st years and we are looking forward to having this year’s 1st year class join us. We have tried to keep contact with the guys this summer and many have done wonderful things. I want to acknowledge several of our players who have visited with Adrian over the summer months. Adrian is hanging in there although he is losing sight in his left eye and experiencing other neurological symptoms as the tumor has returned. Please keep Adrian and his family in your prayers. He is a big part of all of our lives and the guys continue to bring a big smile to his face in every visit. The beginning of school brings great energy to the Hill. I look forward to working with the 2011 team as they begin to write their own story in the annals of Tufts Baseball history. One more heartfelt salute to our 2010 seniors who left an indelible mark with their amazing season. They have raised the bar but no one rises to the challenge better than a Tufts baseball player. Enjoy the fleeting days of summer, have a wonderful Labor Day and don’t forget us- we do need your help to continue to offer the best experience to the players. Your Fellow Jumbo, Coach Case
